MERV Rating

MERV rating is another metric to quantify the filtration efficiency. The higher the MERV rating, the better the filtration efficiency. By this metric, pleated air filters are still superior, as they have a MERV rating of 8-13. By comparison, fiberglass air filters only have a MERV rating of around 2-3.

This is the only parameter where fiberglass filters fare better than pleated air filters.
